How to Plan a Lesson the DVSA Will Love (and Your Pupil Will Learn From)

Wednesday 24th September 2025 @ 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM

£65.00   Share

A 1½ hour Zoom workshop for PDIs and ADIs who want to develop confident, flexible and pupil-centred lesson planning skills.

Lesson planning isn’t about ticking boxes. It’s about creating a session that supports learning, manages risk, and reflects what the pupil really needs that day.

This workshop will help you plan lessons that work in the real world – for you, for your pupil, and for the DVSA. Whether you’re preparing for your Part 3, a Standards Check, or simply want to improve how you structure your lessons, this session gives you clear, practical tools to plan with purpose and confidence.

You’ll explore how to use a simple 6-step structure, how to link your plan to pupil goals and risk, and how to adapt when things change – all while staying client-centred and meeting the standard.

We’ll cover:

  • Planning with purpose to help pupils learn
  • A 6-step structure you can apply to any lesson
  • Connecting your plan to goals, learning and risk
  • How lesson planning links to the 17 competencies
  • Adapting your plan without losing structure
  • You’ll leave with a clear framework you can use right away – and the confidence to plan lessons that make a real difference.
