How to Teach the 5 Skills of Driving

In this interactive session, we’ll explore the five key skills that underpin safe and effective driving: car control, awareness, anticipation, judgement and planning. We’ll look at what each skill really means, how they connect with one another, and how they show up in everyday driving situations.

We’ll also explore how instructors can help learners recognise and develop these skills, moving beyond simply completing tasks and towards becoming more thoughtful, adaptable and independent drivers.
