Since 2013, Charles has been an approved driving instructor, starting his journey by successfully teaching his own son. As a trainer, he has a friendly and calm approach to teaching learners and instructors. He adapts his tuition to suit every individual. Prior to this, Charles was a Detective Superintendent and Head of Professional Standards for over five years dealing with complaints and undertaking investigations for the Independent Police Complaints Commission. After retirement Charles became an independent consultant designing and delivering training in anti-corruption and professional standards to police and customs officers. He served as a lead international expert to the Police Assistance Mission of the European Community to Albania. Charles subsequently acted as an expert witness in this field and was an investigation advisor to the Criminal Case Review Commission. 

Charles brought this extensive knowledge and experience to the driver training industry as Chair of the ADINJC successfully advising and representing PDI’s and ADI’s subject to complaints and investigations by the DVSA since 2015. With over twenty years’ experience, Charles is a trusted expert who can guide and assist you to avoid complaints and navigating any difficulties.
